So today we had this 2002 Peugeot 307 2.0 HDI 110 PS in for a diagnostic, after a quick test drive we hooked the vehicle up to our Peugeot Planet Diagnostic tool and scanned the engine ECU for faults. One fault was stored: P1448 (Intermittent fault. Particle filter. Particulate emission filter overloaded). This fault suggests that the DPF has become blocked, however a quick check on the DPF back pressure in live data confirmed this, at full engine revs we could see the differential pressure hitting over 400 mbar!

Yesterday was an exciting day for us as we had our first chance to test the new Lexus Remapping protocols and spend some time on the dyno with a Lexus IS 220D. The customer traveled early in the morning from Bournemouth and we got straight to it. We started by removing the DPF from the exhaust system. Removing the DPF isn't necessary to achieve a Remap on this car, however the customer wanted it removed in order to prevent any future DPF issues. After the DPF was carefully removed from the exhaust system, the vehicle was taken off the ramp and strapped on to the dyno. In stock format (except for the DPF Delete) the car made a healthy 168.2 BHP and 420 NM.

Have you ever wondered how much power you could be losing due to a blocked DPF? This BMW 520D 163 PS model was booked in for a DPF Removal service, on initial test drive we could feel the vehicle was really down on power, so we decided to dyno it before and after we removed the DPF. With a blocked DPF the vehicle made 100.8 BHP (Should be 163 BHP), after removing the DPF we dynod the car again and it instantly gained 67 BHP, we finished the job off nicely by applying a Stage 2 ECU Remap. End results = 220 BHP and 442 NM. BMW 335D Loss of Power and DPF Problems

This BMW 335D came in to us for a DPF Removal + Stage 2 ECU Remap + EGR Delete. Initial dyno result highlighted a very respectable 350 BHP and 660 NM, but we knew with the fuel and boost settings used we should be seeing more power and torque than this. We started with a full service which helped, however we were convinced something else was amiss. A quick smoke test highlighted no boost leaks at low pressure, but the oil around the first boost pipe suggested some leakage was happening under high boost conditions. We changed the boost pipe and dynod the vehicle again, it now made a very healthy 370 BHP and 700 NM!
