Mercedes-Benz Remapping Service

Mercedes say their cars are characterised by three very pronounced traits: optimum ride comfort, high driving safety and tangible self-assurance. We’d be hard-pressed to disagree, but we’d add a few items to that list. Namely effortless handling, blisteringly fast engines and some of the industry’s most advanced driver-assistance technology.

These are cars for people who love driving: lovingly crafted by some of the best engineers in the world. The AMG GT 63 S is a prime example. First introduced, it’s a super car masquerading as a four door sedan, delivering 631bhp and 627lb ft of torque from 2,500 to 4,500rpm. It’s also packed with incredible gadgets and enough seats for a small family which is certainly a first.

The 2015 SLS AMG GT is another example of Mercedes’ engineering prowess; drawing on the brand’s racing heritage to deliver 583 bhp and a nail-biting 0-60 time of 3.7 seconds.

But it’s not all about the big, showy headliners. So-called everyday drivers like the A 250 provide phenomenal power and a luxurious ride at the same price point as your average hot hatch and the four-cylinder 2.1-litre CDI diesel Sprinter is widely regarded as one of the most drivable vans on today’s market.

Most people would say that you can’t improve on perfection. But we’re not most people, and 10+ years of tuning Mercedes vehicles has taught us that there’s always room to squeeze more power or performance out of a factory-issue Benz.

In fact, Mercedes are some of the most tunable cars (vans and trucks) available on today’s market, which is why we offer a bespoke Mercedes remapping service that’s designed to help you unlock your car’s true potential by boosting your power and torque, improving throttle response and smoothing any flat spots to provide an unparalleled experience.

The exact results generated by a remap will depend on the exact model variant and engine in question, so use the lookup table below to find precise values for your Mercedes:

Unleash Your Car’s Full Potential

Mercedes do a relatively good job of tuning their cars, but they’re the world’s largest luxury automaker, which means that they sell cars that have to drive equally well in Germany, the UK, the US, China, India, Vietnam and South Korea.

Making sure a car performs in such varied environments means slightly detuning the engine so that it won’t overheat when driven for 6+ hours in the blistering heat, or fail to turnover in the sub-zero conditions you’d expect to encounter in Denmark or Norway.

Mercedes also detune a lot of their engines because they’ll be used in regions where access to qualified mechanics and servicing facilities is limited, and then there’s the impact of modular design to consider.

This is where manufacturers like Mercedes re-use one engine, differential or gearbox across multiple vehicles in their range: Cutting manufacturing costs and reducing pressure on their supply chains. Unfortunately, most manufacturers then detune some of the cars at the bottom of a range so that their marketing teams can map a nice, neat progression through their lineup.

As an example, the e320 and c320 have the same 3.2 L V-shaped engine, but the c320 provides an extra 14 bhp.

All this means that a great many Mercedes drivers own cars with bags of untapped potential. We’re talking significant reserves of easily-accessible horsepower and torque hidden by suboptimal engine management software – and a much better driving experience that can be unlocked by widening your power band, smoothing out flat spots and improving throttle response to ensure your Merc provides peak performance.

Are there risks to remapping my Mercedes?

Although the process of remapping a Mercedes is relatively technical, the fundamentals are easy to explain. Your car’s engine is managed by a small computer called the ECU, which reads data from sensors scattered throughout your vehicle, and modifies performance to ensure that your car always drives smoothly.

This computer makes decisions using a database or ‘map’ of different values that tell it when to alter your air/fuel ratios, engage your turbo or alter your ignition timing. When we remap a Mercedes, we plug a computer into your car’s diagnostic port, and upload a new map with values that have been fine-tuned to deliver a better drive.

Equipped with over a decade of tuning experience, we change these values with due consideration for the knock-on effect they’ll have on your engine; tweaking individual settings to ensure that you get better performance without putting too much strain on your engine – or endangering delicate parts.

We’re so confident in the performance of our ECU remaps that we offer a full lifetime warranty against software malfunctions. We also back up your factory default map on our own servers so that you can restore it at any time.
