Working out of a 40,000 m² manufacturing facility that's nestled in the mountains of Southeastern Austria, Remus makes some of the industry's finest OEM and aftermarket exhausts.
They supply direct to marques like McLaren, Aston Martin and Bentley, but their cat- and axle-back systems are also available via a select network of third-party tuning experts. These exhaust systems are widely regarded as some of the most durable and well-optimised exhaust systems that money can buy.
Their cat-back systems are capable of producing a 5-10% increase in available horsepower by reducing back pressure and improving the flow rate of exhaust gases moving away from your car's engine.
Remus cat- and axle-back systems are also made from high-quality materials with a (Significantly) longer lifespan than most stock exhaust systems, and they will significantly improve your car's exhaust note too - producing a refined, but aggressive growl that's sure to turn heads.
We have a good working relationship with Remus, and often recommend their exhausts to clients keen to unlock their car's full potential or improve their vehicle's acoustics. If you're already in the market for a Remus system, you'll be pleased to know that we can source them quickly and fit them properly.
In fact, years of hands-on experience with the brand's product means our technicians can guarantee meticulous service and an excellent fit - using proper mountings and Remus cabling (where applicable) to ensure that your new exhaust is free of leaks, properly secured and capable of communicating with your car's ECU or electronic control unit.
If you're thinking of upgrading your vehicle with a Remus exhaust system, get in touch today. We can book you into our dedicated tuning workshop in south Gloucester, or put you in touch with one of our 300+ international agents.
Remus is a premium brand that's associated with some of the biggest marques in the motorsports industry, but we're not in the habit of recommending suppliers because their brand's strong or well-regarded.
Instead, we prefer to focus on the overall quality of the product - and the impact it can have on your driving experience. Here, Remus always shines. Unlike a lot of aftermarket systems, every exhaust that comes out of the Remus workshop has been optimised for the peculiarities of of a specific model and engine variant; pipe widths are chosen to provide a precise flow-rate, mandrel bends are carefully shaped to ensure that back pressure is minimised and resonators are optimised to produce a painstakingly well-honed exhaust note that perfectly compliments your car.
These are durable and hard wearing exhausts too. Having an aftermarket exhaust fitted is now a safe and straightforward way to upgrade your vehicle, but it's still relatively expensive and you want to know that the new system you're fitting will stand the test of time.
With Remus cat-back or turbo-back exhausts, you're guaranteed to get a well-built system that's crafted from premium materials, irrespective of whether you choose aircraft-grade stainless steel, titanium or inconel.
Even the clamps and mounting brackets are made from high-quality, stainless steel that's guaranteed to withstand decades of wear and tear.
And if that's not enough, Remus also test every system in a state-of-the-art acoustic room that's used to fine-tune your exhaust's sound profile and completely eliminate the annoying cabin drone that affects so many aftermarket exhaust systems.
Some Remus exhausts even ship with app-controlled electronic valves that allow you to modify your car's sound-profile by pressing a button on your phone. Useful if you want to temporarily kill excess noise on busy suburban streets.
In short, these exhausts may not be the cheapest on the market, but they are definitely some of the best. They're engineered to perfection and offer a level of refinement that you'd be hard-pressed to find elsewhere.
First, decide whether your priority is performance, aesthetics or acoustics. If you're primarily interested in maximising your car's torque and horsepower, you should focus on cat- DPF- or GPF-back systems. These exhausts replace the largest proportion of your stock piping and - in doing so - allow for the most substantial improvement to flow dynamics and the overall performance of your engine.
If you're more invested in improving the aesthetics or acoustics of your vehicle, axle-back systems are often a more sensible choice - landing at a lower price point by dint of replacing less pipework.
Once you've settled on a type of exhaust, you'll need to decide on a material. Again, this largely comes down to personal preference but it's worth remembering that stainless steel, titanium and inconel all have different material properties.
All three offer fantastic durability, but stainless steel is more lightweight, while titanium and inconel both offer enhanced durability at a slightly higher price-point - largely due to the increased difficulty of working with these exotic materials.
And once you've settled on a material, you'll just need to choose your new exhaust tips, which is purely down to your own tastes.
