Vauxhall Corsa D & Van Speed Limiter / Limiter Removal

Do you own a Vauxhall Corsa D or Vauxhall Corsa D Van with a speed limiter?

The Vauxhall Corsa D model era was from 2006 to 2014 with a range of different engines and spec. The 1.3 CDTi was very popular with lots of large companies especially in the Van spec due to its cost effectiveness in the way of purchasing and general running cost's. Vauxhall/GM knew this and marketed specially on these reasons. One way of helping with running cost's was giving the option from factory order to include a speed limiter being installed. This appealed to many companies as this would reduce fuel cost's and also encourage safe driving amongst their employee's. However this then proved a massive problem for the second hand market of these vehicles with private owners or sole traders who cover their own fuel cost's on a small scale therefore do not have this worry.

Can the speed limiter be removed or reprogrammed?

Yes! You may of been around in circles regarding this topic but the simple answer as mentioned is yes. If you speak to your local Vauxhall main dealer, they will inform you that the only way this can be done is to purchase a new ECU - Wrong! A new ECU cost approximately £1000 plus installation and programming. Here at Avon Tuning, not only can we 100% successfully remove the speed limiter on Vauxhall Corsa D vehicles but can do so at a fraction of the cost you will be quoted from the main dealer.

After a lot of painstaking research and development mixed with reverse engineering we managed to understand how the speed limiter was applied in the both the Bosch and Marelli ECU's meaning we can then calibrate this restriction out of the software.
