Jaguar Land Rover 3.0L Ingenium Diesel Tuning Breakthrough: Stage 1 Remapping Now Available
If you’ve been following the tuning world for the newer Jaguar Land Rover models, you’ll already know that the latest generation of Bosch ECUs have caused a major headache for tuners across the UK and Europe. For a long time, the MD1CP007 ECU fitted to the 3.0L Ingenium diesel engines were effectively locked thanks to Bosch’s latest protection, leaving owners with very limited tuning options.
Up until now, the only real route for increasing power on these vehicles was through factory-level upgrades using Jaguar Land Rover diagnostic tools. This allowed tuners to convert lower powered variants such as the D200 or D250 into higher factory outputs like the D300 or D350 by applying genuine JLR map settings. This system had limitations, and only certain years and models could be upgraded, which left many JLR owners stranded with no performance upgrade options at all.
After extensive research and development, we are now able to fully tune these ECUs properly, opening the door for genuine custom ECU remapping on the latest 3.0 Ingenium diesel platform.

Want More From Your Jaguar Land Rover?
We can now offer custom Stage 1 remapping for selected 3.0L Ingenium diesel models, taking D200, D250, D300 and D350 variants up to 380HP and 760Nm.
Supported Jaguar Land Rover 3.0 Ingenium Models
| Model | Engine | Factory Variants | Stage 1 Output |
|---|---|---|---|
| Land Rover Defender | 3.0L Ingenium Diesel | D200 / D250 / D300 / D350 | Up to 380HP & 760Nm |
| Land Rover Discovery 5 | 3.0L Ingenium Diesel | D250 / D300 / D350 | Up to 380HP & 760Nm |
| Range Rover | 3.0L Ingenium Diesel | D250 / D300 / D350 | Up to 380HP & 760Nm |
| Range Rover Sport | 3.0L Ingenium Diesel | D250 / D300 / D350 | Up to 380HP & 760Nm |
What makes this even more interesting is that these vehicles all share essentially the same hardware from factory. The differences between the power outputs are mainly down to software calibration and map settings.
Jaguar Land Rover simply chose to create multiple power levels from the same engine package. This is called modular manufacturing, and it’s done by most vehicle manufacturers to make production costs cheaper and speed up the assembly process.
Stage 1 ECU Remap Land Rover Defender D200, D250, D300, D350
The Bosch MD1 ECU platform has been one of the biggest barriers in modern diesel tuning. Protection on these units is incredibly advanced, and for a long time nobody had a safe and reliable solution for unlocking and modifying them properly. That’s why most companies could only offer factory map upgrades rather than traditional ECU tuning.
With the latest AutoTuner unlock process now available, we’ve been deep into testing and development to see exactly what these engines are capable of once those restrictions are removed.
Our development work has been centred around two vehicles running the DT306 version of the 3.0L Ingenium diesel engine — a 2026 Land Rover Defender D350 and a 2023 Land Rover Discovery 5 D300. Using these vehicles throughout the research and testing process has allowed us to analyse the differences between factory calibrations, monitor how the platform responds to tuning changes and refine the software properly in real-world conditions using our in-house 4WD Dyno.
Despite the different factory power outputs, both vehicles share the same core hardware, which gave us the perfect foundation for developing a proper custom Stage 1 solution. We’ve successfully developed a fully customisable Stage 1 remap solution capable of pushing these engines beyond the factory D350 power level, while still maintaining smooth drivability.
| Factory Output | Stage 1 Output | Gains | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Horsepower | D200-D350 | Up to 380HP | Up to +180HP |
| Torque | Model dependent | Approx. 760Nm | Model dependent |
After countless hours of testing and logging, we have achieved figures of 380HP with approximately 760Nm of torque. Whether you own a D200, D350 or anything in between, we can now safely and reliably take it up to 380HP and 760Nm.
Developed on our in-house 4WD Dyno
Our Stage 1 solution has been tested, logged and refined using real vehicles, real dyno data and road testing to ensure strong performance without losing the smooth drivability these engines are known for.

Tuning the 3.0L Diesel Ingenium Engine
One thing we really wanted to avoid with this platform was creating a one-size-fits-all file. A lot of modern tuning has become overly generic, especially with newer protected ECUs.
Our development process on the Ingenium platform has been heavily focused on refinement, and we wanted these vehicles to drive exactly how they should have from factory, but with more urgency and torque throughout the rev range.
Throttle response, gearbox behaviour, boost control, torque delivery and overall drivability have all been carefully developed throughout testing. The end result is a vehicle that feels sharper, stronger and far more responsive without losing the smooth characteristics that make these engines so good in the first place.
Customisable Power Levels Available
One of the biggest advantages of having full ECU access rather than just factory upgrades is that we can now offer custom tuning solutions tailored to each customer. Some owners may simply want their D200 or D250 upgraded to D350 performance, whereas others may want the full Stage 1 setup to maximise performance within safe tolerances.
We can tailor our calibrations depending on how the vehicle is used, whether that’s towing, motorway driving, daily use or performance-focused setups. Having this level of control over the calibration is what makes real custom remapping so much better than basic file conversions.
